Burton Fire District was formed in 1986 out of necessity due to only having a few fire trucks to serve the whole county , it would take almost if not more than 45 minutes to respond. which in that amount of time a home would be completely destroyed. The community joined together an fund raised to start up a fire department. They had car washes , bake sales, raffles, cook outs and members to pledge monthly donations to try to get the funds to build and maintain a department and to get trucks. (more to come)
